FHWA Study Tour of Speed Management and Enforcement Technology: Europe and AustraliaFHWA-PL-96-006 This report documents the findings of a study team from the United States (U.S.) which conducted a scanning tour in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and Australia during the period April 21 through May 5, 1995. The purpose of the tour was to obtain firsthand knowledge about the practices and policies concerning speed management and enforcement technology. Federal, State, and local government agencies can apply much of what the Speed Management and Enforcement Technology Team found in its scanning review. A summary of the team's findings is given below. Additional information on specific speed management strategies can be found in the country summaries.
