A Memorandum of Cooperation in Transportation Science and Technology was signed in 2005 between USDOT and the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways. The Memorandum follows an earlier 1997 Memorandum of Intent to Cooperate on Surface Transportation Science and Technology between the Government of India and USDOT. In the coming year, FHWA and the Department of Road Transport and Highways will be working together to pursue technology exchange and information sharing activities in support of that Memorandum of Cooperation.
